Entrapment Against Colloidal Silver Users on Facebook

Learn more about the infection-fighting qualities of colloidal silver at www.TheSilverEdge.com
The corporate news media is now stooping to new lows, sending reporters using false identities to infiltrate colloidal silver-related Facebook groups in order to entice group members into making medical claims for the nutritional supplement.

Once a Facebook group has been infiltrated, the reporters then post completely fictitious but heart-wrenching sob stories, claiming to have relatives with serious health problems – this, in an attempt to lure group members into responding with advice on how to resolve the illness using colloidal silver.

The goal is to be able to report that “illegal medical claims” are being made on the Facebook forum.  In short, the corporate news media is now joining hand-in-hand with the medical bureaucrats in enforcing Big Pharma’s monopoly on information about health and healing.

Here’s the inside scoop on this developing story…

Hi, Steve Barwick here, for The Silver Edge..

The corporate news media – scum that they all-too-often are – have been sending reporters to entrap people on Facebook into making medical claims about colloidal silver.

This of course is part of the news media’s ongoing campaign to discredit colloidal silver usage in light of the recent revelation that an agency of the U.S. Department of Defense had conducted a test tube study in which nanosilver was demonstrated to halt the Ebola virus from replicating inside infected cells (see study overview, here).

Since the Ebola outbreak and the subsequent spread of the disease to the U.S., however, online discussion of the DOD study has been vilified in the media as an attempt to “bring false hope” to Ebola victims, and “sell snake oil” to people fearful of Ebola’s potential spread.

No Ebola “Cure”

Of course, as I previously wrote, in an article entitled “FDA Ready to Bring the Hammer Down on Colloidal Silver Vendors?” there is quite literally ZERO definitive evidence for claims that colloidal silver is a “cure” for Ebola.

After all, the DOD-related study was only a test tube study, and not a human study.  And therefore, it cannot be used as proof that colloidal silver works against Ebola.

But as I insisted then – and I continue to insist now -- people have the right to openly discuss and debate all issues regarding the nutritional supplements they use, including colloidal silver.

That’s one reason why I formed the Colloidal Silver Secrets Community on Facebook several years ago, so such issues could be widely discussed and openly debated in a public form.

Indeed, it was on the Colloidal Silver Secrets Community on Facebook that the now-infamous DOD study was originally posted some two years ago, long before it was mysteriously scrubbed from all government-related internet venues earlier this year when the Ebola crisis broke out in full force.

Entrapment

In recent weeks, however, the news media has been sending reporters to surreptitiously join colloidal silver forums on Facebook.

The reporters -- using phony Facebook profiles – are told to ask blatant medical questions in an attempt to goad unwitting group members into making statements about colloidal silver usage that could be construed as “medical advice.”

Indeed, these reporters, who are violating Facebook policies by using phony Facebook profiles, have been posting completely fake but heart-wrenching emotional stories such as this one which I recently scrubbed from the Colloidal Silver Secrets Community on Facebook:

"My wife has cancer and is dying, and the doctors say there's nothing left they can do about it.  We have six little children who need their mommy.  How can I use colloidal silver to save my poor wife, for the sake of the children?”

That’s pure entrapment, of course. The slimy reporters are cunningly tugging on people’s deepest emotions in a deceitful effort to lure them into saying anything that could be construed as “medical advice.”

Worse yet, in their news articles these reporters even brag about using such despicably deceptive means of inducing people to respond.

As one reporter openly bragged:  “We used a fake username and claimed a female relative is seriously ill with breast and liver cancer. We affirmed that neither surgery nor chemotherapy have helped, and that doctors have given her a short time left to live.”

Once the reporters have posted their phony but emotion-laden stories on a Facebook colloidal silver forum, they then take screen shots of the comments, and use those screen shots as evidence from which to write sensationalistic news articles claiming that “snake oil salesmen” on Facebook are “making big money by giving false hope to dying people.”

A New Low for the Corporate Media

This, of course, demonstrates with great clarity the new low the corporate media has sunk to in its ongoing, incestuous relationship with Big Pharma, from which it derives some $4.8 billion per year in advertising revenue according to the U.S. Government Accounting Office.

As we’ve all seen in the past, the news arm of corporate media outlets is often used to denigrate the use of nutritional supplements, particularly popular supplements people may be taking for enhanced health and well-being instead of using Big Pharma’s toxic prescription drugs.

Sensationalistic scare stories designed to herd people away from natural health and straight into the arms of Big Pharma are published or broadcast on a regular basis by the corporate news media.

Of course, you have practically zero deaths from natural substances like colloidal silver over the past – what? – 60 years or more.   And you have something like 106,000 deaths per year – each and every year, in the U.S. alone – from Big Pharma’s toxic prescription drugs which constitute the bulk of advertising revenue for the corporate media.

But of course, that incestuous big-dollar relationship between Big Pharma and the corporate media is never mentioned by their news outlets when they rail against natural health products.  And neither are the real-life heartbreaking stories of what those 106,000 deaths per year from prescription drugs are doing to real-life families like yours and mine.

It just demonstrates the two-faced, hypocritical nature of the corporate news media today, where over a million deaths every ten years from prescription drugs – in the U.S. alone -- gets virtually no news coverage whatsoever, but let some poor guy on a Facebook group get duped by a reporter into trying to help a supposedly sick, dying individual and he’s publicly lambasted in the media as a “fraud,” a “charlatan” and a “snake oil salesman out to make a buck.”

This clearly demonstrates the low-life, back-alley nature of the corporate media beast.

No Medical Advice

Nevertheless, as a reminder to readers who might also be members of the Colloidal Silver Secrets Community on Facebook, medical advice is not allowed on that forum.  That’s because forum members are not doctors or medical practitioners of any kind, and make no claims to be.

Indeed, no one on the Colloidal Silver Secrets Community on Facebook is qualified to tell you how to use colloidal silver to cure a serious illness or disease, or even to recommend colloidal silver as a “cure” for a disease someone might be suffering from.  By FDA regulations, colloidal silver is a nutritional supplement, and not a drug.  Period.

The Colloidal Silver Secrets Community on Facebook is simply a forum in which people gather to publicly discuss and debate the use of colloidal silver as a nutritional adjunct to their health and well-being.

This, much as other online forums are designed to allow people to discuss their experiences with herbs, minerals, vitamins, boats, cars, clothing lines, computer games or any other conceivable subject.

Last time I looked, discussing ones personal nutritional supplement usage and the perceived benefits being gained from it is still legal under the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Yes, that’s the very same First Amendment that protects the corporate news media itself, even when they pimp themselves out to Big Pharma under the guise of “investigative journalism.”

The difference is that Facebook groups and other online forums are generally open and honest about their purposes and motives, whereas the bought-and-paid-for corporate news media is completely disingenuous about their own purposes and motives in attacking nutritional supplements like colloidal silver, as well as other natural health regimens.

More Hypocrisy and Corruption

Oh, and by the way, in February of 2014 the U.S. Food & Drug Administration – acting under obvious pressure from Big Pharma -- took the very first steps in the regulatory process to make sure the public would no longer have to listen to the long litany of risks and side effects of prescription drugs in media advertising.

Isn’t that sweet?

The medical authorities claim they’re concerned that the long disclosure of prescription drug side effects in TV, radio, magazine and newspaper ads are just a bit too tedious for the average individual, and might “result in reduced consumer comprehension, minimization of important risk information and, potentially, therapeutic noncompliance due to fear of side effects.”

In other words, the medical authorities are afraid if you know what the side effects of the drugs are, you’d never use them.  So they no longer want you to know what the real risks of prescription drugs are, or even how many different risks there are.  They just want you to obediently take your drugs like good little boys and girls.

And don’t dare seek information about natural health alternatives in online communities.  That’s strictly verboten, mind you.  “We have people watching.”

Such is the world we live in, folks, where the corporate criminals hide their heinous crimes through regulatory manipulation, and then use their shills in the corporate news media to try to make criminals of people who simply want to discuss alternative means of staying healthy and well.

Hypocritical NBC News Attacks, Ridicules Colloidal Silver

While the big TV networks rake in billions of dollars a year from Big Pharma for advertising some of the most crippling, side-effect-laden drugs in the world, their news departments relentlessly attack safe, natural remedies like colloidal silver.

Here’s another example -- fresh from the archives of the otherwise prestigious NBC News – demonstrating the hypocrisy of the major news media, particularly when it comes to reporting on colloidal silver…

Hi, Steve Barwick here, for www.TheSilverEdge.com...

Obviously, NBC News is running out of sensationalistic topics for the “Body Odd” section of their online news site.

In fact, in a recent article by “science writer” Tia Ghose, the giant news network chose to regurgitate, in National Enquirer-style, some of the same tired old canards about colloidal silver we’ve all seen in the past.

From the very first paragraph, onward, NBC News ominously warns its readers that those who drink too much colloidal silver “turn a disturbing shade of blue-gray, a condition known as argyria.”

Of course, as I’ve pointed out over and over and over and over again, colloidal silver CAN indeed cause argyria – i.e., a blue-gray skin staining.  This has been known for over 60 years.  So it’s nothing new.

What NBC News Left Out

But what NBC News selectively fails to point out in their article is that in order to create argyria, you have to use this otherwise safe, natural infection-fighting substance irresponsibly, in great excess, and for long periods of time

That’s because when colloidal silver is used regularly, for months or years on end, and in super-high doses or excessively high concentrations, the body’s normal elimination processes (i.e., kidneys, liver, and sweat glands) can get overwhelmed by the excess silver.

As a result, the body can begin to store some of the tiny silver particles in the tissues and organs.

And if excessive colloidal silver consumption is continued, the body then begins pushing some of the tiny silver particles out to the skin in an effort to get rid of it.

Finally, when enough sunlight hits the embedded silver particles in the skin, they begin to oxidize (i.e., tarnish), turning the skin a bluish-gray or even slate gray color.

It’s very similar to the photographic process that uses silver to create photo negatives.  In essence, the skin becomes “tattooed” a grayish blue color wherever the silver particles are.

Never Harmed Anybody

But when colloidal silver is used responsibly, with moderation and common sense, it has one of the most benign safety profiles of all nutritional supplements.

Indeed, the safety profile for colloidal silver is so good, the FDA has admitted under past Freedom of Information Act requests that it has no negative public safety data whatsoever on the supplement, as I’ll show you in just a moment.

The point being, of course, that moderate, responsible and common-sense usage of colloidal silver has never harmed anybody

But NBC News selectively leaves that little bit of information out of their article.  Why do you think they’d leave out such an important fact?

Colloidal Silver Safety Record

Indeed, NBC News utterly failed to acknowledge in their article that colloidal silver is sold in virtually every well-stocked health food store in every city in North America, and that there’s an estimated 10 million users of the infection-fighting substance in North America alone.

The giant news network also failed to acknowledge that colloidal silver is one of the most popular water disinfectants used throughout Mexico, Central and South America, where the colloidal silver product called Microdyn is routinely recommended by the governments of those countries.

And the network failed to acknowledge that in Europe, colloidal silver is used in the drinking water supplies of thousands of cruise ships and cargo ships, to safely sterilize and disinfect the drinking water.

NBC News also failed to acknowledge that colloidal silver has even been used on the Space Shuttle as well as the Russian Space station to disinfect the water for astronauts and cosmonauts on long space journeys.

But I don’t suppose you’ve heard of any blue-skinned astronauts or cosmonauts lately, have you?  How about blue-skinned cruise ship passengers?  Blue-skinned Mexicans, Central Americans, or South Americans?

I thought not.

What’s more, NBC News failed to acknowledge that colloidal silver is used widely throughout Third World developing countries to help disinfect the water supply, and as a result is directly responsible for saving literally hundreds of thousands of lives from dysentery and other infectious diseases.

So you’d think with all of this colloidal silver usage worldwide, there would be a veritable global epidemic of blue people everywhere you look, wouldn’t you?

But what’s the reality?

In over 120 years of colloidal silver usage worldwide, in a wide variety of consumer applications, and with millions and millions of current users worldwide…

…only a relatively tiny handful of people have ever managed to turn themselves blue, and then, only when they took egregiously excessive amounts of colloidal silver for long periods of time.

That’s what NBC News fails to tell you.  And why do they selectively fail to give you this information?

It’s because if they gave you those details you’d have the proper perspective from which to judge their propagandistic claims about colloidal silver.

You’d see that their claims are sensationalistic at best, and bordering on corrupt at worst.

But they won’t give you those details, because they don’t want you to have them

The bottom line is that when it comes to reporting on colloidal silver, they’ve stooped to National Enquirer-style journalism on behalf of their pharmaceutical company masters.

Indeed, the biggest piece of information NBC News fails to acknowledge is that even the FDA has sheepishly had to admit, when faced with Freedom of Information Act requests for information on colloidal silver’s safety, that they don’t have any significant negative consumer data on the substance:

FDA Admits:  No Clinical Data Showing
Colloidal Silver to Be Unsafe for Human Use

For example, here’s one Freedom of Information Act request to the FDA, asking for all of their negative data on colloidal silver.

Following the request, you’ll find the FDA’s short but revealing reply:

As you can see, the FDA response for information on negative consumer data on colloidal silver was underwhelming to say the least.

Indeed, they had nothing negative to say about colloidal silver when given the chance to reveal its supposed dangers.

Big Pharma’s Influence on the News

So why is NBC News railing against the supposed dangers of colloidal silver when even the FDA has been forced to admit the consumer safety profile of this infection-fighting natural substance is remarkably clean?

And why hasn’t NBC News acknowledged that some of the most popular and widely used drugs in the world have far more crippling (and even deadly) side effects, including many of the drugs that NBC routinely advertises on its own network, such as Tylenol, which is now the world’s #1 leading cause of acute liver failure resulting in 56,000 cases per year of liver poisoning, 26,000 hospital admissions and about 500 deaths annually due to liver failure?

Could it be because Big Pharma spends something like $4 billion annually on media advertising for their drugs?

Yes, that’s billion with a “b.” And yes, that’s every single year – with some $3.1 billion of this money going directly to television advertising according to the New York Times

Could it be that NBC and the other major television networks have a vested financial interest in promoting Big Pharma’s side-effect laden drugs, while discrediting natural health remedies such as colloidal silver?

Could this be why the big networks so snidely portray natural health remedies as dangerous modern-day versions of “snake oil” – even as they collectively rake in billions of dollars annually from the big drug makers in return for promoting some of the most deadly and side effect-laden drugs in the world?

I’ll leave those questions up to you to answer for yourself.  But I think in your heart of hearts you already know the answer.

Setting the Record Straight

With all of that out of the way, let’s take a quick look at some of the specific claims made against colloidal silver in the NBC News article.

In the very first paragraph of the article, NBC News claims that colloidal silver may be “the weirdest” of all “unproven health remedies.”

That highly biased statement sets the tone for the rest of the NBC News article, as the reporter attempts to portray colloidal silver usage as something out of a carnival sideshow.

The author goes on to state in the fourth paragraph that “Enthusiasts of colloidal silver believe the metal's antibacterial properties will keep them from getting sick,” but “There’s no proof it works…”

So what’s wrong with the claim?  It’s completely biased and decidedly untruthful.

·       First of all, the NBC News article fails to acknowledge all of the studies demonstrating colloidal silver’s profound effectiveness against serious life-threatening pathogens like MRSA.

·       The NBC News article also fails to acknowledge the studies demonstrating colloidal silver’s effectiveness against a number of viruses.

·       The NBC News article also fails to acknowledge the plethora of bona-fide medical experts who recommend colloidal silver usage for healing infections and related illnesses.  In fact, NBC News fails to provide any balance to their article whatsoever by interviewing or quoting these medical experts.

·       And the NBC News article fails to acknowledge the dozens upon dozens of clinical studies and white papers that have demonstrated the profound infection-fighting benefits of colloidal silver

·       And finally, the NBC News article writes off thousands of anecdotal reports of colloidal silver’s profound healing qualities as being nothing more than figments of the overly-active imaginations of users of the substance.

In other words, there was no attempt whatsoever made by NBC News to provide a balanced and unbiased look at colloidal silver and its usage.

The entire article was the journalistic equivalent of a drive-by shooting.

Indeed, the author of the NBC news article ventures into the realm Red Herring journalism by sneaking in a link to another online article about the Fugate clan of Troublesome Creek, Kentucky.

The Fugates, of course, have bluish-looking skin due to a genetic blood abnormality called methemoglobinemia, which is apparently compounded by intermarriage between members of this isolated clan.

The article about the Fugate clan has absolutely nothing to do with colloidal silver usage, or with argyria.

Indeed, it appears to be linked to by NBC News solely as a means of connecting colloidal silver usage with a freakish occurrence of nature.

But far from being a freakish occurrence of nature, colloidal silver is among one of the most well-studied and commonly used forms of natural protection from infectious microorganisms, with dozens of clinical studies to its credit

New Study?

Finally, what really galls me about this propaganda piece disguised as a “news” article from NBC is that it purports to be an announcement of a new clinical study that has for the first time ever demonstrated the biological pathway through which colloidal silver causes argyria.

Here’s a direct quote from the NBC News article:

“The team found that stomach acid strips silver atoms of one electron (electrons have a negative charge), making a positively charged silver ion, or salt.

The silver ion then seeps into the bloodstream through channels normally only used by other salts. From the bloodstream, the salts wind up in the skin.

When light hits the skin, electrons from the surrounding area immediately bond to the silver ions, turning them back into silver atoms.

The chemical conversion results in darker particles, and the skin turns blue. The same chemical reaction is used to develop black-and-white prints.”

Ignoring the erroneous idea that a positively charged silver ion is a “salt” (it most definitely isn’t)…

…and ignoring the fact that no mention whatsoever is made of the decided worldwide dearth of cases of argyria…

…have we learned anything new from the NBC News article?

Nope.  Not a thing.

While NBC News essentially touts this new study as being groundbreaking in nature, the reality is this:

It’s been known for over six decades that the condition known as argyria is basically similar to the photographic process in which silver is converted by light to produce a pigment.

For example, Wikipedia.com explains:

Chronic intake of silver products can result in an accumulation of silver or silver sulfide particles in the skin.

As in photography (where silver is used due to its reactivity with light), these particles in the skin darken with exposure to sunlight, resulting in a blue or gray discoloration of the skin.

This condition is known as argyria.

And the 1987 clinical study, Argyria: the Intradermal “Photograph,” a Manifestation of Passive Photosensitivity” states:

X-ray microprobe and electron microscopic study was made of the remarkable blue-black pigmentation that sunlight elicits in patients with argyria…

…Similarities are demonstrated between the darkening of the skin and the darkening of a photographic film following light exposure…

…This passive photosensitivity reaction leads to silver tattooing of the light-exposed skin and to photographic imaging in the film.”

In other words, the whole idea touted by NBC News that this is new information borders on the ludicrous.

The NBC News article simply uses the announcement of the new study as an empty pretence to ridicule the idea of colloidal silver usage, and most importantly, to scare away their readers from even thinking about using it.

The Real Purpose of the Article

Finally, the NBC News article states, regarding colloidal silver and argyria, “To avoid looking like a Smurf, it's probably best to avoid the health tonic altogether.

And there you have, in a nutshell, the entire purpose of the NBC News hit piece.

But do you see any news articles from NBC News saying "To avoid becoming one of the 56,000 people per year who end up with Tylenol poisoning or the 500 people per year who end up dying from acute liver failure due to Tylenol poisoning, it's probably best to avoid pain-relieving drugs like Tylenol altogether?"

Of course not.  After all, such a statement – however true it might be -- would cost NBC tens of millions of dollars or more in annual advertising revenues.

The bottom line is that the entire NBC News article on colloidal silver was cleverly designed to sow into the minds of their news readers the erroneous notion that they’ll ‘turn blue’ if they even consider using the substance.

Wrong Again…

Finally, the NBC News article concludes by saying “…there’s no known way to reverse” argyria.

Yet even that statement is a complete falsehood.

Nearly 10 years ago Dr. Allison Vidimos of the famous Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH developed a method for using a laser light to reverse mild cases of argyric skin staining.

And she’s taught this technique around the world ever since.  Indeed, there are now doctors from the east coast to the west coast and around the world successfully practicing the technique, which is basically very much like tattoo removal using laser light.

Years ago I wrote about this successful technique for reversing argyria in my book, The Ultimate Colloidal Silver Manual

And I wrote about it again in my more recent article, Colloidal Silver:  Harmful to the Human Body?

Pure Propaganda

So basically, the only significant fact the NBC News article got right is that excessive use of colloidal silver can cause argyria – a fact that’s been widely known for some 60-plus years (though it is only true for a small subset of users).

The rest of the article was pure propaganda.  And NBC News has pretty much destroyed any credibility it might have had in regards to unbiased reporting on natural health topics.

The bottom line is that if you stripped away all of the reporter’s bias and skillfully employed propaganda from the NBC News article, and added just a tiny bit of factual data, the entire news article could have easily been summed up thusly:

In a press release, scientists from Brown University claim to have simulated the biological pathway through which excessive long-term use of colloidal silver can cause argyria.

Argyria is a cosmetic skin condition that has afflicted only a tiny number of the estimated 10 million colloidal silver users across North America, and which according to the FDA causes no apparent health concerns.

In this simulation, the researchers demonstrated what has already been known about argyria for some 60 years:

When a large enough number of silver particles are carried through the body to the skin over long periods of time, the skin can become stained blue or bluish gray in a photographic-like process.

But instead of reporting truthfully, the reporter chose to abandon all journalistic principle and weave her own bias into the article, using cleverly chosen words and website links to strike fearful emotional chords in the minds of NBC News readers.

You’re Fired!

As a journalist and author with over 30 years of writing and editorial experience, I can assure you I’d have fired any reporter who brought me such a deceptive and poorly researched piece of propaganda disguised as journalism.

But NBC News chose instead to print the piece.

Worse yet, NBC News chose to end the article with an embedded video of poor old Paul Karason, the so-called “colloidal silver blue man,” who openly admits he used high concentrations of colloidal silver excessively for over ten years and ended up staining his facial skin a bright blue.

Of course, there would be nothing wrong with including that video, had NBC News bothered to mention the fact that Karason is an unusual case and is not at all representative of the millions of responsible colloidal silver users around the world.

But instead the news network chose not to do reveal that critical detail, demonstrating their own complicity in the biased reporting.

Big Pharma Shuns Silver; Blackmails U.S. Government Into Paying for New Antibiotic Drugs With Taxpayer Money

While numerous clinical studies have demonstrated the amazing effectiveness of colloidal silver and other forms of antimicrobial silver against drug-resistant pathogens, Big Pharma continues to ignore the evidence.  Instead, they’re now forcing U.S. taxpayers to pay through the nose for the development of new classes of antibiotic drugs. And they’re lowering the safety testing requirements on those new drugs, which means they’ll be even more toxic and dangerous than ever.  Here’s the story you won’t hear anywhere else…

Hi, Steve Barwick here, for www.TheSilverEdge.com...

Back in December 2011 I wrote an article explaining that Big Pharma was essentially attempting to blackmail the U.S. government (as well as European governments) by threatening to stop all research into new antibiotic drugs…unless the government agrees to fund such new research with taxpayer money.

In other words, the big drug companies – which collectively make hundreds of billions of dollars in profits every year -- want us to pay for their research and development costs, and then charge us through the nose for the new drugs they’ve developed with our own money!

Of course, they use sensationalistic scare tactics to make their point, claiming we’ll all end up dying of superbug infections if we don’t foot the bill for their research and development into new and more powerful classes of antibiotic drugs.

What About Antimicrobial Silver?

But in my previous article, I pointed out that in study after study after study after study after study after study after study it’s been demonstrated that colloidal silver and other forms of antimicrobial silver kills drug-resistant super-pathogens.

I also pointed out that studies from BYU have demonstrated that existing prescription antibiotic drugs often regain their full effectiveness against super-pathogens when colloidal silver is added to the drug regimen

So there’s really no reason spend billions of dollars of taxpayer money on the development of new drugs, when antimicrobial silver can be used to staunch the tide of super-pathogen infections, instead.

Here It Comes…

But Big Pharma has no intention of looking into antimicrobial silver.  After all, silver is a natural substance, and even if you could patent it as a drug and sell it for hundreds of dollars a prescription, people can still make and use their own antimicrobial colloidal silver for just pennies in the comfort and privacy of their own homes.

So Big Pharma ignores silver in the fight against drug-resistant infections.  And now they’re forcing governments to tap into the taxpayer’s wallets for new drug development.

Indeed, according to an article in the June 19, 2012 issue of Infectious Disease News, the U.S. government has simply caved in to Big Pharma’s demands, and is now going to start paying for pharmaceutical company research into new antibiotic drugs with your tax money and mine

Below is a brief excerpt from the article.  Be sure to note how the author repeatedly uses the word “incentives” in place of the phrase “taxpayer money.” But don’t be fooled by the semantics.  It’s your money they’re funneling to Big Pharma in order to give them the “incentive” to develop more antibiotic drugs:

“The United States House and Senate members have announced a bipartisan agreement on the FDA’s Safety and Innovation Act, which includes language to address antibiotic research and development and to bring new antibiotics to the country, according to an Infectious Disease Society of America statement.

IDSA has advocated for such antibiotic incentives, and hopes that the incentives spark interest in this area of medicine. Their 10 x ’20 initiative outlines the need to bring antibiotics to people who need them in the United States and abroad. They say that other incentives will be necessary to reach these goals.

Possible incentives include tax credits for research and development, public-private collaborations and the Limited Population Antibacterial Drug mechanism to streamline FDA approval, which the IDSA recently proposed.”

Translation:  The U.S. government is going to provide “incentives” (read: taxpayer money) to the big drug companies as a means of “sparking their interest” in developing new antibiotic drugs.  What’s more, once Big Pharma gets started, they’re going to need “other incentives” (i.e., code for massive tax breaks on their profits) in order to reach their goals.  Finally, they’re also going to need “streamlined FDA approval” of these drugs by no longer requiring stringent safety testing.

Well, that’s awfully comforting, isn’t it?

We pay for their development of the drugs out of our taxes.  Then Big Pharma sells the drugs back to us for massive profits.  And now the drugs will be more toxic than ever. And on top of that, Big Pharma will ultimately pay no taxes on the profits they reap from these drugs.  Such a deal, huh?

The Illusion of Humanitarianism

Of course, Infectious Disease News tries to make it sound like the government came up with this idea as a humanitarian means of “incentivizing” the big drug companies to work harder on developing new antibiotic drugs.  But nothing could be further from the truth.

As I pointed out in my previous article, the entire scheme was concocted by Big Pharma from day one.  And if you don’t believe me, perhaps you’ll believe the architects of the scheme – i.e., the Infectious Disease Society of America – who have explained in glowing and approving terms on their own web site how Big Pharma has pulled it off.

There you’ll read how 14 major drug companies backed the plan, which is called the “10x’20 Initiative” because it “aims to encourage the development of 10 new systemic antibiotics by the year 2020.”  Isn’t that precious?

And of course, just as I warned, Big Pharma used sensationalistic and apocalyptic scare tactics to get the plan implemented by Congress:

“We’re on the brink of a medical catastrophe – more and more patients are succumbing to drug-resistant infections for which we have no good treatment options, and yet the number of new antibacterial drugs being developed is plummeting,” said Thomas G. Slama, MD, president of IDSA. “We are engaged in ongoing discussion with congressional leaders to help them appreciate just how serious this problem is…”

The Big Shakedown

Of course, the whole thing reeks to high heaven of an organized crime shakedown.  And that’s exactly what it is.

According to the book, The Truth About the Drug Companies: How They Deceive Us and What to Do About It, by Marcia Angell, “Drug companies often decided to stop making important drugs in order to free up capacity for drugs with bigger market potential.”

In other words, it’s not that the antibiotic drugs are unprofitable to produce. They’re very profitable.  It’s just that other drugs, such as heart drugs, diabetes drugs, arthritis drugs and others are even more profitable because patients have to take them for a lifetime. And the big drug companies would rather produce the most profitable drugs possible, even though it means millions of lives will be lost as a consequence of cutting back on the production of less profitable drugs like antibiotics.

But hey, don’t worry.  After all, if the U.S. government will just funnel plenty of taxpayer money into the coffers of Big Pharma, the drug companies will do us a great big favor and work on developing a few more of these less profitable antibiotic drugs.  But just 10 more, mind you.  And then…well…we’re apparently on our own unless we keep the flow of taxpayer money (er…uh…I mean “incentives”) coming.

You know how it works:  Once the taxpayers are forced by Big Brother to pick up the tab for Big Business, it never ends. They just keep demanding more.  It’s called Corporate Welfare.  And it’s the biggest scam in town.

Colloidal Silver to the Rescue!

Meanwhile, if you see the handwriting on the wall, you know it’s time to learn how to make and use colloidal silver with a high-quality Micro-Particle Colloidal Silver Generator from The Silver Edge.

I won’t say any more than that, because I just don’t think it’s necessary.  You either get it at this point, or you don’t.

Big Pharma and their cronies in the FDA (and in Congress) are shaking down the entire population.  And now that they’ve managed to tap into the taxpayer trough, the infectious disease crisis is simply going to get worse and worse.

Why?  Because that’s where the money is now – a never-ending supply, compliments of the U.S. taxpayers.  And the only thing Big Pharma really cares about is money.  So please don’t suffer under the delusion that they’ll actually stop the so-called superbug crisis if we’ll pay them to develop new antibiotic drugs.

To Big Pharma, human life means nothing compared to billions of dollars in easy taxpayer money.  But you can even-up the odds by learning how to make and use your own high-quality antimicrobial colloidal silver silver.

Yours for the safe, sane and responsible use of colloidal silver,
