Got the horrific itches from brushing up
against some Poison Ivy or Poison Oak?
I’ve got some great news for you: Many of our readers claim colloidal silver
relieves the symptoms of both Poison Ivy and Poison Oak quickly, easily and

And I think I know why it works so well,
thanks to colloidal silver’s ability to reduce inflammation by modifying the

say, “Colloidal Silver saved my wife’s arm from a bad case of Poison
Ivy.”
Glenn further stated, “We thought for sure there
would be ugly scarring on her arm, the poison ivy was so bad. Doctor’s drugs
were not working. Her arm was looking like a bad burn. Thanks to
Colloidal Silver she healed rapidly and no scars were left on her arm.”
Another reader, J.H., of California, wrote in to say that
colloidal silver works on poison oak, as well, “My partner and I have also found that using silver water from the
micro-particle colloidal silver generator directly on skin eruptions such as
poison oak and mild infections reduces healing time dramatically.”
On the MyHomeRemedies.com website, an
individual calling herself “Hot Pepper” wrote about her colloidal silver cure
for Poison Ivy, as follows:
“This is the perfect home remedy to use for Poison Ivy: Get liquid colloidal silver up to 30-40 ppm
or stronger.
Go
buy pure aloe vera gel, but make sure it’s clear in color, the clearer the aloe
gel the better, you buy it at Walgreens or CVS.
Step
1: Take the aloe and put it in a
container and fill it 1/2 way, then take the colloidal silver and fill it in
the container to the rest of the up to the top of the container.
Step
2, mix the two together, the blacker or darker the aloe gets the stronger
concentration of silver percentage you have in the gel.
Step
3, use the Silver gel on the affected areas just like any other gel, apply 2-3
times a day!
The
Poison Ivy symptoms will be gone in 2-3 days.
And the silver gel you have just made will last several years. If the
gel becomes dry and hard, just add more liquid colloidal silver to it to soften
it up and use again and again!
The
silver gel once applied will instantly stop the itching and burning and it
kills out the Ivy or Oak!
This
is the best stuff a person can use ! I highly recommend this remedy!”
Not Surprising
While this use for colloidal silver is quite unusual, it’s
not at all surprising that it would work.
After all, several different studies have demonstrated the
ability of colloidal silver to relieve inflammation by modulating excessive
cytokine expression (see “Does Colloidal Silver Boost Immunity?” at this
link for documentation.)
And of course, the massive skin inflammation caused by
contact with Poison Ivy is a direct result of excessive cytokine release in the
body.
As science writer Stephanie Wilson points out:
“A
substance from Poison Ivy called urushiol makes
its way down through the skin where it’s metabolized.
Immune
cells called T-cells recognize the urushiol metabolites as foreign
substances. They send out inflammatory signals called cytokines,
which bring in white blood cells that become macrophages.
Macrophages
eat foreign substances in the body, but in doing so they also damage normal
tissue, resulting in the oftentimes serious skin inflammation that occurs with
Poison Ivy.”
So now you know.
Poison Ivy’s infamous itch, inflammation and blistering is caused by
excessive cytokine expression by the human immune system. And colloidal silver just happens to reduce
excessive cytokine expression, thus providing dramatic relief from the symptoms
and healing of the affected skin!
According to journalist Francis Sedgemore:
“Silver has for centuries been
used to treat and prevent infection, and its wound-healing properties are well
known…
But the new research...indicates
that silver goes further than this and modifies cytokines, leading
to reduced inflammation and an increased rate of healing.”
So the ability of colloidal silver to relieve the pain of
Poison Ivy and to stimulate skin healing should not come as a surprise to you.
And for readers who might live in an area where Poison Ivy or
Poison Oak are prevalent, it’s sure great to know that this actually works!
According to readers who have tried colloidal silver on
their Poison Ivy or Poison Oak, all you really need to do is use a pump spray
bottle to spray 10 ppm liquid colloidal silver directly onto the affected skin,
and allow it to air dry, at least three or four times a day (or any time the
itching comes back).
Or, you can use the technique described by “Hot Pepper”
above, and make your own colloidal silver gel.
